As regular readers know, one of my personal projects that I plug on the site is called “THE CROSSING.”  But you might not have heard of it before…

CROSSING is a unique attempt at fan produced content that embraces a fan script format rather than prose or other media.  This allows each episode to be presented as dialogue and action which makes for a quick read and a fast pace.  The story, ambitious as it is, takes the cast/crew from STAR TREK: VOYAGER, and tosses them into a parallel timeline that intersects with one Galaxy Far, Far Away… imagine the story telling of Star Trek combined with JEDI and the YUUZHAN VONG.

Prior releases (which have been posted here and can be found in the below forum thread) have been Trek-exclusive in content as necessary setup of characters and locations, but tonight I’m proud to release part one of the Crossing premiere episode, Strange New Worlds.

1.01 - Strange New Worlds, Part 1
I’ve got some regrets about the way things were handled… we could have been much more prepared. But that’s beside the point now: the shadow is about to be lifted. We’re about to meet with destiny… in more ways than one.
Mysterious sensor readings captured by the USS Voyager lead to an investigation only to reveal Captain Ry’s worst nightmare, the dreaded enemy that he’s been waiting to encounter for the past year: the Yuuzhan Vong. The unmasking of this thread leads to a number of surprises as the crew learns their first hints of Ry’s history, where he’s come from, and who this enigma truly is… but the biggest surprises are for the newest members of the Voyager crew.

I’d encourage you to give it a shot - don’t dismiss simply because you don’t like/know/or understand Star Trek - many of our forum users have read the episodes and comment that they can follow the story completely without ANY prior knowledge of Star Trek.  Utilize the forum thread for commentary - I hope you enjoy.  We’re always looking for more writers, artists, and a continuity database (wiki) manager.
