Review of Legacy #37 “Tatooine” part 1 of 4

Yesterday saw the release of the newest issue of Legacy.  Join X-wingurly and me as we travel to Tatooine to catch up with Cade and the crew of the Mynock.  Be warned there are spoilers for those that haven’t had a chance to read this issue yet..

Corax: Issue 37 of Legacy starts off with our heroes raiding a Black Sun shipment and Cade wiping memories from Imperials. While the action was kept to a minimal, this was still a strong issue considering it was a building point for Issue 38.

X-wingurly: While some people may not enjoy the lack of action, this issue reminded me of A New Hope. I have said it before but John and Jan understand what SW is about. There was easy banter, sarcasm, scheming and you are not just quite sure how things will end up.

Corax: Definitely. The tone was indeed lighter but it didn’t feel as if nothing was going on. And hasn’t Blue been asking for new boots since Broken?

X-wingurly: I guess. lol Blue also gets to take a break from her deliciously scandalous clothing to pose as an Imperial Mission ambassador. Nuf’ said.

Corax: I loved that part and Syn had some great lines here as well. But even with all the funny moments you can tell that Cade is not quite happy. He is doing what he wanted and yet there seems to be no peace for him.

X-wingurly: Which will make things interesting as Cade will no doubt run into his mom and sister. Nyna basically hired herself to go to Tatooine as well as sending Gunner to go catch Cade too. And yep, Gunner still has no idea about her mommy’s double life. No one does for that matter. Veed is also temporarily going away as well as he has a meeting with Darth Wyrrlock.

Corax: Nyna is still searching for the true status of Krayt so things could go wrong for the Sith in the future. Going back to Gunner, she seems more her father’s daughter than mother’s daughter but she is gung ho on getting Cade.

X-wingurly: Gunner basically thinks Cade is a piece of poodoo scum-she is half right-when talking to Moff Gromia. Speaking of Moff Gromia, even the outskirt planet of Tatooine has a Moff in charge.

Corax: I thought she was awesome. She seems old school Imperial. She set a hit out on Corde. Maybe Gromia has some dirt on Corde to bring her down. Maybe Nyna has finally met her match.

X-wingurly: I hope so. That is what I like about Legacy. It has stereotypical characters but still manages to surprise us with them. Like Naxy Screeger being Cade’s informant and telling him where Black Sun would ship their cargo. Very nice move on their part.

Corax: That was cool with Naxy. I figured he would try to sell-out Cade not work with him

X-wingurly: Same here. Which is why I give John and Jan a cyber hug for throwing me for a little loop. Another surprise was the introduction of the three assassins that Black Sun hired, at Gromia’s request, to kill Cade and Corde.

Corax: Legacy gives us more diversity. This trio reminded me of the more sinister version of the heroes with the assassins being a Blood Carver and an Anzati couple. One of which was holding a lightsaber.

X-wingurly: Makes you wonder if the Anzati, Sint, was a former Jedi padawan by any chance?

Corax: It does raise the stakes.

X-wingurly: So we have Gromia plotting with Black Sun who hired these assassins to kill Cade and Corde who is working with Gunner who still doesn’t know that Corde is her mother Nyna all the while Veed is meeting Wyrrlock…*breathes* did I get it right?lol

Corax: And Cade and company are stranded on Tatooine.

X-wingurly: That too. Stranded and broke.

Corax: All in all a great lead in to the showdown in the next issue. So don’t miss reading Legacy Issue 37 :)
