Book Giveaway - The New Space Opera 2 - closed
The New Jedi Order Encyclopedia is giving away a brand new copy of The New Space Opera 2.
For those who are wondering, what is ‘Space Opera’ well, from Wikipedia:
“Space opera is a subgenre of speculative fiction or science fiction that emphasizes romantic, often melodramatic adventure, set mainly or entirely in space, generally involving conflict between opponents possessing powerful (and sometimes quite fanciful) technologies and abilities. Perhaps the most significant trait of space opera is that settings, characters, battles, powers, and themes tend to be very large-scale.”
In other words, for regular readers of our site, Star Wars is Space Opera. And it just so happens that among the 19 authors who contributed to this short story collection is Kristine Kathryn Rusch (author of The New Rebellion) and Sean Williams (author of The Force Unleashed).
Coming out June 30th from Eos, The New Space Opera 2 is edited by Gardner Dozois and Jonathan Strahan and also features notable authors such as Neal Asher (Ian Cormac, Polity), Elizabeth Moon (Vatta’s War), John Scalzi (Old Man’s War) and Bill Willingham (Fables).
If you’d like to check out the review by Jim Haley (Kirr) you can do so here.
