Star Wars Legacy #40 Review
X-Wingurly and I sat done this morning to discuss the latest exploits f
or Cade and the crew of the Mynock!! After the break you can see what we thought of the final issue of the “Tatooine” arc!!
Corax: Ok here we go. This issue started off great. Finishing up the fight between the Black Sun assassins and Cade and company. Cade proved without a doubt with Sint that just because you can use a lightsaber doesn’t mean you should.
X-Wingurly: Seems Sint had stolen a lightsaber from a dead Jedi and Cade cut him down to size. Literally!
Corax: Exactly and Morrigan was her badass self in her duel with the Blood Carver as well and Jariah comes in for the save at the last second by using thud bugs against him. Jariah has really grown on me over the last couple of arcs. Very funny, very insightful and Cade’s guiding light at times.
X-Wingurly: While the scenes between Jariah and Corde are priceless (once again, they both have the best, and funniest, lines), I will say that I was a little disappointed at the fate of the three assassins. Very predictable ending for them although Nakia’s death was the best. Corde finishing her off with the poison while lying to Nakia about an antidote was pure awesome. Reminds me why I love Imperial ladies the best.
Corax: That and Corde was able to bring down Gunner a couple of pegs. Now I like Gunner a lot, but Morrigan needed to knock the little princess off her throne. It’s kind of funny how Cade figured out that Moff Gromia was bilking the Imperials before Gunner. A couple of bright spots in an otherwise dismal turn of events for Corde.
X-Wingurly: She and Cade had the showdown we have been waiting for. Cade wants nothing to do with her and is upset for her abandonment of not only him but of Kol as well. I think what upset him the most was that she knew about the Sith from the beginning. Although to give her some credit, she admitted she had no idea that the Sith were going to kill everyone on Ossus.
Corax: Couple this with the fact that while Gunner was confronting Gromia about her corruption, Gromia spills the beans to Gunner about how Nyna Calixte and Morrigan Corde are one and the same person. We don’t get her thoughts on all of this but you can bet she will be mad. I do think that Morrigan should have told Cade that she loved him though. I guess that will have to wait until their next meeting I suppose ![]()
X-Wingurly: Would she have told Cade she loved him before or after he almost killed her with force lightining? If you look at everything from this arc, it didn’t go to well for Moff Calixte. Veed became regent, Gunner learned the truth, Cade disowned her. All in all a pretty crappy mission for Morrigan. I only seeing it getting more difficult from here on out.
Corax: But we do know from his confrontation with his mom that Cade wants to change. Cade is summed up with this one line, a line he has never uttered before, “This isn’t who I want to be.” I see some changes in his future.
X-wingurly: About time too! Cade has finally grown up. Deliah too. Can’t forget about her.
Corax: I loved the sequence between Deliah and Ethan. Deliah has such swagger that she’s just awesome. Although Ethan nicely highlights her dilemna quite well. Ethan, Ethan, Ethan where to begin? I thought his character was intriguing. A man who knew he was being played by Deliah and he went along with it. It will be interesting to see if he pops up again and if he truly will be one of the good or bad guys in the new Imperial Mission Darth Wyyrlock ordered.
X-Wingurly: Darth Wyyrlock has decreed that the Imperial Mission will be the face of the Sith and everyone will personally receive Sith instruction. Seems we will now see more of Moff Rus and Astraal Vao.
Corax: Rus has it pretty bad. You could tell this doesn’t sit well with him but at the same time, there is nothing he can do about it. I think Rus might turn out to be Fel’s secret contact on Coruscant.
X-Wingurly: This issue left more questions now than answers. All in all, it is a solid read.
Corax: In the end I thought the issue was great. A ton of info to process from this arc and alot of groundwork being laid for what comes next.
