In Case You Missed It - Week of 7/20/2010 to 7/25/2010
Sometimes a whole bunch of news comes out during the course of a given week that articles just don’t last long enough on our front page. Or perhaps it’s just that the piece of news wasn’t enough to warrant a front page story, but is still deserving of being recognized as newsworthy. In Case You Missed It is meant to be our catch-all for those things – a way for us to summarize the past week’s worth of news.
There was a lot of news out of the San Diego Comic-Con, and I’m going to direct you to our Headlines in that section for a summary of all those things (including panels, interviews, new comic announcements and new toys).
Meanwhile there may be other Star Wars news that slipped through the cracks over the past week, overshadowed as it might have been by the SDCC stuff. The Official Site had a look at some new characters coming to Season 3 of The Clone Wars here, as well as a look at the upcoming The Clone Wars Magazine from Titan (featuring TCW comic stories exclusive to the magazine) here. And speaking of Magazines, the Official Site also had a look inside Star Wars Insider 119, The Empire Strikes Back tribute issue.
Which brings us to Celebration V. DisneyUnplugged did an interview with Steve Sansweet that’s worth a read about the event, it’s been revealed that lost concept art of Ralph McQuarrie will be showing up at CV, and the Official Site has done a brief history of Star Tours which is a whole lot of fun for anyone who remembers when that ride first opened (or just wants to see what it was like).
In book news, in case you missed it, the cover and blurb for Knight Errant have been released, as well as an excerpt from Fatal Alliance, and a first look at the cover of The Jedi Path. Outside of comic-con (specifically within the pages of Star Wars Insider 119) it was revealed that the next Star Wars Adventures Digest with be Boba Fett and The Vault of Terror, coming in February of 2011.
Continuing with comic news, John Jackson Miller did a fascinating interview with ChinaShopMagazine about the state of the industry. Finally, for any other San Diego Comic-Con comic news, I highly recommend heading over to CosmicBookNews - where they have headlines in a sidebar and detailed stories covering most of the biggest announcments from DC, Marvel, Boom! (Stan Lee’s new comic books) and others.
