A new listing at Random House has come up for an Audiobook called Star Wars: Heir to the Empire: Behind the Scenes. It appears to be a different listing from the Heir to the Empire Anniversary Edition Audiobook “an expanded universe is born”, which makes some sense if I put on my speculation cap. I couldn’t figure out how the Audiobook of Heir to the Empire would include the annotations – and now it seems more likely that this is just a new audiobook edition of the novel (perhaps including the new short story from the book) read by Marc Thompson. I expect the Behind the Scenes audiobook is going to contain the annotations and more behind the scenes stuff about the making of the book as told by Timothy Zahn and Betsy Mitchell (original editor of Heir to the Empire). I’m not seeing a release date, but it seems likely to come out at the same time as the novel, on June 28th, 2011.
