Yuuzhan Vong Technology |
The Yuuzhan Vong use various biological technologies, since they believe that anything mechanical is an abomination all of their technology is living. Because all of their tools, weapons, ships, and other items are alive newer better and more necessary technology to arise it has to be shaped (remade from the old technology) by the Shapers. Below this are explanations about how some of the technology works, as well as what the technologies do. |
|
Ground and Individual |
In this section there are the items that single units/people/small groups of people would use. This is specifically the technologies that would be used on the ground (technically some ships can be manned by one or a few people). |
Amphistaff |
The weapon of choice for the Yuuzhan Vong single units (soldiers) is the amphistaff it is a snake-like weapon which can be made into a stiff, strong staff. It spits poisonous venom which can be fatal. The amphistaff can withstand lightsaber blows and can break skin with enough strength. When not being used the amphistaff will usually coil around its owners arm. |
Blorash Jelly |
Almost sentient, the blorash jelly is a jelly like creature which solidifies and can be used to immobilize an opponent it is attracted to the warmth of a body. It can move but can?t think for itself. |
Coomb Spores |
The Coomb spores are toxic when introduced to the body. They cause a disease which is not contagious but is very deadly. The spores can be detected by the Shlecho newt. |
Coufee |
A chitin which has been sharpened into a double edged dagger. A weapon used by all castes; even some shamed ones carry coufees. |
Gnullith |
The Gnullith is used for breathing underwater. It is a star-shaped creature which, when put on, sends a tube down the wearers throat supplying oxygen to the wearer. |
Lambent Crystal |
The Lambent Crystal is used as a light source it can be attached to walls for people use or it can be used as the equivalent of a flashlight. The lambent can become attuned to a person who will in turn be capable of turning it on or off. The person the lambent usually becomes attuned to is the person who prepares the lambent for picking. |
Ooglith Cloaker |
Like the Ooglith Masquer it is like a living second skin. The Cloaker is transparent and doesn?t change the appearance as much as it helps the wearer survive in extreme temperatures. |
Ooglith Masquer |
The Ooglith Masquer is like a living skin that can mask your features and can be used to mask a Yuuzhan Vong as a human. The Ooglith Masquers are used by the Yuuzhan Vong to infiltrate the New Republic and later on the imperial remnant. |
Plaeryin Bol |
The Plaeryin Bol is a small creature which can spit poisonous venom. It is roughly the shape and size of an eyeball. Nom Anor is known for having replaced his eye, ceremonially, with one such Plaeryin Bol. |
Plasma Eel |
Like an Amphistaff, it can curl around the user\'s waist, but when thrown its body becomes hard and the eel builds up energy. The eel then releases this energy upon impact creating an explosion equivalent in strength to thermal detonators. |
Razor Bug |
The Razor Bug is identical to the thud bug in every way except that the Razor Bug has extremely sharp wings which can be more painful to the target being attacked. |
Singularity Mine |
A small seed-like pod containing a miniature dovin basal-like creature which, once the outer shell is cracked, creates a gravitic singularity which compacts surrounding matter. |
Thud bug |
Thud bugs are bugs that will home in on a target and if it hits the target hard enough or with enough precision it can cause unconsciousness to the target. |
Tizoworm |
A small wormlike creature, the Tizoworm is like a translator it crawls inside ones ear and translates for you depending on the language needed in that situation. |
Tsaisi |
The tsaisi is a cousin to the Amphistaff. It is shorter, and more delicate. It is given to lowest ranking warriors, and slave warriors like the chazrach. |
Vonduun Crab Armor |
Vonduun Crab armor is the armor used by the Warrior caste for protection when going into battle it is strong against small blasters and can stop weak lightsaber blows. It is known to be weaker under the armpits and the armor also is found to be allergic to Bafforr pollen which causes the armor to swell therefore killing the wearer by suffocation. |
|
Biotechnology |
This section is about other organisms that the Yuuzhan Vong use that are self aware. |
Dhuryam |
Like the Yammosk the Dhuryam is self aware and controls the uses of other creatures/ devices. The Dhuryam in particular controls the development of the planet Yuuzhan?tar, the new homeworld of the Yuuzhan Vong. |
Dovin Basal |
Dovin Basals are red heart-like creatures which have the ability to create and control gravity. The dovin basals are used on ships for their maneuverability capabilities (using gravity to push the ships along), as well as their defensive use. The dovin basals can create miniature black holes which are used, instead of shields, to soak up Torpedoes as well as laser-bolts. |
Embrace of Pain |
The Embrace of Pain, a recreational device for some of the Yuuzhan Vong, it is sometimes used as a torture device on the peoples of the New Republic. It involves the use of different pain-causing properties to give the user/wearer the most pain possible. The more you fight against the Embrace the more pain it causes you. |
Fire Breather |
The massive 6-legged fire breathing behemoth. It has a thick hide which is almost like an armor and its fire-breathing abilities are why the Yuuzhan Vong use the fire breathers to aid ground troops by burning all obstacles or possible threats. |
Grutchins |
These giant grasshopper-like creatures can survive in vacuum as well as eat and digest most metals. The grutchins are used to devour ships from the body inward. |
Ngdin |
The ngdin is very much like a living mop. It feeds on blood which is very useful to the Yuuzhan Vong because after the blood spilling at sacrifices, someone (or in this case something) has to clean up the mess. |
Oggzil |
This is an attachment for the Villip so that it can communicate over normal radio waves used by the New Republic. |
Villip |
The communication tool of the Yuuzhan Vong. The villip can be used to communicate to another Villip. Villips can only communicate with a certain other villip. Villips look like large berries which pulse when someone on the other end (with the other villip which yours communicates) is calling you to speak. The villip once stroked properly then unfolds and then shows a representation of the head of the person on the other end, the details are not always perfect. |
Voxyn |
The Voxyn was bioengineered by shapers from the Vornskyr, a force sensitive native dog-like animal from Myrkr. The Voxyn were developed with new abilities, and can attack by: Spitting Acid, Sonic Blasts (which are screeched by the Voxyn), and there is a Venomous Barb on its tail. The Voxyn’s blood turns into a toxic vapor when it makes contact with air. The Voxyn are trained to track, and kill, Jedi, by following their presences in the force. The Voxyn were accidentally made with a genetic defect, giving them short lifespans (a few months), the “Queen Voxyn” is the only Voxyn without this defect. The Voxyn project was eventually abandoned after the destruction of the facility at Myrkr. |
Yammosk |
The Yammosk or War Coordinator as it is sometimes called is a creature with many tentacles which are used for the mental communication with others. The Yammosks use gravitic fluctuations to give commands to all other ships that it is in control of. Yammosks are not born they come into being from another Yammosk therefore being ?born? with all of the knowledge of the previous Yammosk inside it already. |
|
Vehicles |
In this section there are the transports and ships that are used by the Yuuzhan Vong. This list contains the single man ships as well as the big cruisers. |
A-Vec Liuunu Fighter Carrier |
This is a capital ship of the Yuuzhan Vong and is usually used for transporting Coralskippers to battle. The coralskippers latch on to coral appendages that extend from the main body of the ship. |
Coralskipper |
The Coralskipper is the single man fighter for the Yuuzhan Vong. It uses a Dovin Basal to maneuver as well as for defense. The Coralskipper has a long body which comes to a point at the front (almost tear-shaped) and it is made up of living coral, so it can heal itself if damaged. Inside the cockpit the pilot adorns a cognition hood which is used to communicate with the ship using the mind. Coralskippers have little volcano-like sections near the nose which spew out flames and lava globs which can melt through the armor of most mechanical ships. |
Lizard Mount |
The large four-legged Lizard is used as a ground transport by the Yuuzhan Vong because of its strength and persistence. The Lizards will fight back in self defense. |
Suuv Ban D?krid Cruiser |
The Cruiser analogs are big multi-colored and fish/clam-like in appearance. Made up of coral, they have arm-like appendages which are used to house and deploy coralskippers. |
Uumufalh Gunship |
The Gunships are used for escorts because they are especially useful in an attack for they can shoot plasma from their many plasma ports. |
Warship |
Yuuzhan Vong warships are their best capital ships, oval shaped these ships have appendages going along the top and along the bottom of the ship. The warships ?arms? and more than just places for the coralskippers to dock some of them are themselves weapons and can fire deadly blasts. |
Worldships |
Worldships are massive transport/residential ships. The worldships look like giant starfish in shape but can be a mix of many colors. The outer shell of the worldship is made of yorik coral like most of their other ships. The worldship uses a spinning motion to create a false gravity. Worldships have a central control system A.K.A. the brain of the worldship. If the worldship?s brain gets sick or injured the whole ship will either slowly die away or suddenly just fall apart (depending on the injury). |
Yorik-Trema Landing Craft |
The Yuuzhan Vong landing craft is used to transport ground troops from space to the ground. It is ovoid in shape and, once landed, will shoot tubelike appendages out from its sides so that the troops may exit. |
