The gang over at Jedi News were able to attend the 2010 UK Toy Fair and they got an awesome look at some upcoming toys from Hasbro!!  Check out the forums for more photos as well as the Jedi  News site for larger images!!

The Official Site has posted the cover and blurb to the second book in the new Scholastic series Adventures in Hyperspace starring Han Solo and Chewbacca in their days before joining the Rebellion!!

After transporting rude aliens and unusual plants for Jabba the Hutt, Han and Chewbacca are in the mood for an easy job. But after Jabba sends them to the mining planet Shinbone for delivery and pick up, Han and Chewie learn that working for Jabba is never easy.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Uliah’s review won’t be going up today. Instead, I’m bumping up my planned column for Friday, and will give an additional Galaxy Not So Far Away this week instead. So enjoy the review below, and come back Friday to see what I’ve got in store.

Stand aside, father and son bounty hunters are back with another review – this time it’s the recently released Stand Aside-Bounty Hunters! from DK Readers. This 32 page book is a level 2, meant for children beginning to read alone. This again is a successful example of how to convert The Clone Wars TV show into a compelling book that will keep kids coming back to it again and again. To learn more, click on the link.

In case anyone has forgotten, Star Wars: Crosscurrent by newcomer Paul Kemp releases today. Early word on the book is that it’s very good. Our site will start rolling out reviews over the next week or so - but in the meantime we’ve had some related coverage you might be interested in.

Iron Fist has provided a primer for those unfamiliar with Jaden Korr (the main character in Crosscurrent) and his exploits prior to the new book.

Last week I reviewed Dark Forces: Soldier for the Empire, a look at the first adventure of Jaden Korr’s master, Kyle Katarn. On Thursday of this week I will continue looking at the life of Kyle by reviewing Jedi Knight.

The Star Wars Expanded Universe is a big place, and one that’s easy to get lost in. To the extent that my bookshelf allows, every Tuesday I or another reviewer will be guiding you through the EU with (generally) chronologically placed reviews of Star Wars novels. Today I will be reviewing Lando Calrissian and the Flamewind of Oseon, the second novel of L. Neil Smith’s trilogy The Adventures of Lando Calrissian, the only Expanded Universe novel to prominently feature a Sesame Street character!*

Fresh on the path of a “respectable” career, Lando Calrissian, the Millenium Falcon and the droid Vuffi Raa find themselves plagued at every turn with run-of-the-mill troubles such as ridiculous fees, inhospitable locals, bombs, random assailants… You know, the usual. Unbeknown to Lando and his pentapedal companion, the layers are indeed deep and convoluted, and the authorities of a system who will execute you for possessing a weapon of self-defense aren’t his only enemies.

One thousand years of peace. One thousand years of harmony. One thousand years of acceptance of diversity and freedoms and choice RUINED.

This is what will be lost if the Separatists get their way. They operate in the shadows of your own doubts and fears. They operate without regard or compassion for other beings. They seek to undermine all that we have worked so hard to build.

We will not let this Republic that has stood for a thousand years be split in two. We love the Republic. We love democracy. The day we stop believing in such freedoms is the day we lose them.

DON’T LET THE SEPARATISTS WIN. The Separatists greatest trick is convincing the galaxy they don’t exist. But by then it may be too late. You are all citizens of the galaxy. You are all valued and accepted in the Republic. If you love yourself and your fellow sentients, you must report any and all Separatist sabotage to any Republicans you may find in your travels. Do not let them take away our lifestyles that we enjoy so much.

Are you aware that NJOE is running it’s very own Survivor style game? The contestants have already been chosen and divided into teams (the Separatists vs The Republic) but you can still participate too! Those Seperatists have started defiling posts all over the boards - can you find them all?

If you’re reading this article, chances are pretty good that you’re aware that Paul Kemp’s new novel, Crosscurrent, will be released within the next week. Now, I have to imagine that the average reader of that novel will not have played Jedi Knight : Jedi Academy, a PC, Mac and Xbox game originally released back in 2003. And yet, given that Jaden Korr will be starring in Kemp’s novel, I thought I might devote this column to setting the stage for Korr’s entrance.
