The discussion for Michael A. Stackpole’s X-wing: Rogue Squadron will begin today. Please join in on the discussion on the boards if you have read it.
The February book for the book club will be another Stackpole hit in Dark Tide II: Ruin. Feel free to get a head start on that one, and as usual, the discussion will begin on the 15th of the month.

This should come as no surprise, but the Untitled Game Tie In by Sean Williams we reported on several days ago has been confirmed by our original source to be the novelization of “The Force Unleashed 2.”
The book is presently scheduled for October 5th of this year, but as we learned from the first one, that date could be subject to change.

Returning again this week are the Jedi and his padawan for a review of The Clone Wars: Jedi Adventures. This is a level 4 DK Readers book, meaning it’s meant for proficient readers who have a large vocabulary, are ready for complex sentences, and a long story. In short, it’s a little too advanced for both of my sons – which really gave me some good insight into how these levels work and why. More details about both the book, and our reactions after the break.

This is my third read through of the first volume of Legacy, and one of the things that’s striking to me is how well it holds up to multiple readings. The first time I read it was when it first came out, in 2007. I read it again (along with volume 2) when volume 3 The Claws of the Dragon was released in 2008 – so that I could re-immerse myself in the story. I picked up a lot of things in that read through that I hadn’t the first time – and that happened again during this 3rd read of Broken. I’m also glad I decided to go through this series again – I was feeling a little burnt out on it after Vector (I story I didn’t really enjoy) and this was a great way to get me invested in this story again. So, for my full review, click on the link.

In light of the corruption that has plagued the Tallah monarchy via the council of ministers and governors, Queen Veda has ordered the elections in spite of the fact that it could strip her son of the only future he’s been groomed for. Both the paperback version of Death Troopers, and the hardcover prequel novel, have been pushed back.
This comes as little surprise to anyone paying attention - the original release dates they employed have now been filled by other books.
The change is confirmed and the new dates were given by Sue Rostoni via the Official Site’s message boards: “The next horror novel by Joe Schreiber is tentatively set for February 2011. The mass market reprint of DEATH TROOPERS is coming out either December 28, 2010 or January 25, 2011 — not sure yet.”

No one needs to be told how vast the Star Wars galaxy has run. Spanning seven movies, multiple TV shows (Okay, we’d be hard-pressed to classify the Holiday Special as TV too), and some three thousand years worth of lore, Star Wars fandom has quite a bit of material to follow. In addition, however, many communities have developed sites or situations in which the fans can modify or create canon of their own within the Star Wars Universe. This column will be devoted to spot-lighting those sites which we believe might be of interest to others within the community. Today, we discussing the darkness that is approaching….
