It's hard to believe that only six years ago many of us were venturing into bookstores only to find a new Star Wars book on the shelves - the cover a horrific depiction of a mutalated humanoid and the story just as engaging. Vector Prime began a series that ran for 19 action packed books, a handful of short stories and eBooks, and even a comic book series. The onset of the Yuuzhan Vong showed that the Star Wars galaxy was ready to take a jump into a more mature galaxy where our heroes weren't safe every time they ran into battle. Our characters evolved and changed and we were just along for the ride.

In celebration of the 6 year anniversary of the New Jedi Order as well as the second release of the Post-NJO stories, Dark Nest 2: The Unseen Queen, the New Jedi Order Encyclopedia is proud to be heading a unique fan project: The NJO Fan Awards. From categories such as Best Romance and Best New Character all the way up to the main ones of Best Main Character and Best Book, the NJO Fan Awards will showcase the best (and in a few cases the worst) aspects of this exciting addition to the Star Wars saga.

Welcome to the NJO Fan Awards Voting Booth. Just beyond this introduction are the 9 pages of categories and proud nominees. You might consider this page as your red carpet before the awards - hey look, there goes Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade, don't they look stunning tonight? Anyway, in an effort to create the fairest method of voting, we are using your e-mail address to verify your "existence" - there will only be one ballot allowed to be cast per e-mail address. When you click the "Continue" button below you'll arrive at a page which requests you to enter your e-mail address. You will then be sent an automated reply that contains a link which will give you access to your private voting booth.

This e-mail will come from fanawards(at)njoe(dot)com so adjust / watch your spam filters accordingly. If you do not receive an e-mail, please use the NJOE message boards to request support. You must complete the entire ballot (all 9 pages) for your votes to be counted, so if you close your browser prematurely, it will not count. However, if you need to start over, simply enter your e-mail into the box again and you will automatically proceed into the voting booth right where you left off (there's no e-mail sent at the resumption stage).

Voting is open from September 27th, 2005 until October 17th, 2005. Please tune back in to NJOE on October 23, October 30, November 7, and November 13 for the results.
